I want to trigger TRIAC from 175 degree to 179 degree range of AC220 V cycle. could a simple RC trigger circuit do it? like the one used in ceiling fan speed regulator.
I have designed a temperature sensor taking power from serial port, its working with serial ports on the mother board from a PC or laptop but not working with a USB to RS232 port as for my circuit power requirements are min 8 volts at the input of power regulator , I dont know the voltage levels...
difference between 8051 and 89c51

I think studying the datasheets of both versions would make it more clear to you. as far as i know that 89s51 can be directly programmed by serial port and 89c51 cannot be.

u should study diff bus structures so u know how pc buses function as we know all pc cards r attached to one of these buses. u should see ISA,EISA, PCI buses structure.

i think there is no simple circuit to do what u want from it , it may be a very complicated circuit and u have to work on diff. modules of circuit to make it work, if u want to make it very simple dont make it , just buy a finished product nothing else could be simple

i think u can not find any opto which has LED input higher than 2volts, always a series resitor is required to drop out the extra voltage and limit the current.

multiple telephone extensions
i m working on a pabx like system to make telephone extensions able to access limited facilities. when only one phone line available. also to monitor and log all the activity. like speech recording, timing, dialed and recieved calls.

i have made with 89c51 something like it on experimental basis just to control port pins by sending command from hyperterminal with a serial link.
the serial link is possible with all baud rates till 115k using 11.059mhz crystal, but i prefere lower baud rate like 9600 as with 115k baud...
