Ok, problem solved.
An issue was in that by default spectre has distribution run mode and that parameter doesn't move to script somewhy.
So, I've added:
hostMode('local)
And all works fine now.
Thanks for responses.
Re: Monte carlo running as the ocean script problem
Yes, you are right, but thing is that this is not my function or procedure - the error comes from somewhere inside of spectre. Sometimes, I believe, that I saw msg "loading monte.cxt", and right after that this error.
Usually, when I'm saving...
Hello,
In the one technology I'm trying to run MC simulation thru ocean script (because of IC 5 here :( ).
In GUI all running ok, so I've saved ocean script directly from this GUI and try to run this from icfb:
Such way gives for me:
*error* parseString argument #1 should be either a string or...
Re: Book Common source problem
Hello,
This solution looks strange for me:
1. C1 - even if we calculate F3dB frequency of such high pass filter we comes to ~8pF
2. How was value of Vd achieved? I don't get this Vds = (Vd-Vth)+0.2 and that's why Vd is 1.6, in my opinion Vd = Vg - Vth + 0.2, but...
The second one looking where the current gain ( dB20((mag(i("/V6/PLUS" ?result "ac")) / mag(i("/V5/PLUS" ?result "ac"))) ) crosses 0 dB, this point is your ft.
Hello,
I used for such measurement next schematic:
Don't look at these wires on the bulk, I just checked different transistors.
Next, I run two analysis dc and ac.
After what just use two equation:
pv("N0" "fug" ?result "dcOpInfo")
cross(dB20((mag(i("/V6/PLUS" ?result "ac")) /...
How did you set accuracy of the simulation?
Try to set maxstep in transient analysis few time less than Tosc (for example Tosc/10) .
Also, if you don't use initial condition or kickstart elements, place it to the your design.
In such cases, I usually use result browser tool. From it you can easily export parameters, for example I've tried to calculate your expression for transistor N3:
pv("N3" "ids" ?result "dcOpInfo")/pv("N3" "w" ?result "instance")
But I'm not sure that "w" parameter returns Weff (anyway it's not...
Hi,
For strongest harmonic you always could use ymax function, for other I suppose you could use "value" function.
In HB analysis you could use "harmonic" function and directly write which harmonic you want to print, maybe this function works also for PSS.
Why don't you use for this purpose the cross function? You can just put in it difference of your waveforms and setup threshold at zero, that's all. This function return for you not waveform, but set of values (as I understand this exactly what you need) and you can easily print it to file with...
ok, if it waveform then of cource ocnPrint() is that you need.
I usually use ocnPrint() in such way:
ocnPrint( ?output “~/output.txt” your_waveform ?from 0 ?to 10u ?step 50n ?precision 10 ?numberNotation ‘engineering)
this expression will print your waveform into output.txt file, waveform...
Re: Power Amplifier - Virtuoso 6.1.15
This doesn't depend from virtuoso version, but from MMSIM version. I have MMSIM 13.1 and there is tutorial for load-pull:
