Hi,
Can I use IR2110 to drive the IGBT FGA25N120 by Fairchild..? Is the gate current requirement for FGA25N120 higher when compared to the output current of IR2110..? The switching frequency is 30KHz.
Thanks in advance.. :)
Sorry for the delayed reply...
For both purpose we are using vias..
Also in the primary side draws 25A current. For this we are using vias 200 mils apart. And the secndary side has to deliver 250A current...For this purpose we put vias spased 100 mils...
Hi,
I am designing a welding machine PCB(2 layer). Its rated output current is 20V,250A...To handle this current we planned to solder thick copper conductors on the bottom side of PCB( areas of high current density). But if we go for via stitching in the high current dense areas(100 mil gap...
Hi,
In my welding machine power supply project,i am designing a high frequency transformer...The major issue that I am facing is with the winding losses, when it comes to 100KHz.... In the design, I am asked to avoid the use of Litz wires. So I have to go for some paralleling mechanisms...Is...
Hi,
I want to design a high frequency(100KHz) transformer of 125A secondary current. What can be the maximum current density to be assumed(secondary and primary) , if the application is a welding power supply...?
I have attached the schematics..Please go through it...I am using Nichrome wire as the load for testing...

Yeah crossing the gate voltage maximum can breakdown the gate oxide insulation...I have uploaded the schematics ...Please check it...
Is there any demand of a minimum collector current for the IGBT to be turned on...Because I've tried the gate emitter voltage upto 20V...Its not turning on...Or is the gate emitter voltage need to be exactly 15V,not more than that..? The datasheet specifies Vge of upto 20V(absolute maximum)...
FGA25N120 from Fairchild..Its an NPT trench IGBT...It needs 160nC gate charge when Vge=12V and Vcc=400V.
Today first I reduced the H bridge power supply from 300V to 210V. Also reduced the collector current from 500mA to 149mA. The collector emitter voltage got reduced from 26 to 20V...
