what's the E-plane and H-plane of this antenna? It's very urgent for me.

Dear friends I attached the figure of an antenna and the far field radiation pattern. I want to know: 1.what are the co-polar and x-polar pattern direction? 2. what are the E-Plane and H-Plane? it's very urgent for me ,I really thank if some one help me. The 2d figure is the Directivity as...

What's the reason of this result(E_field distribution) in these antennas?

There are two different antennas shown in the following pictures. The first one has a patch with uniform width and the second one has a patch with non-uniform width. So the question here is : Why is the E-field distribution in the second antenna smaller and more uniform than the first...

what's the interpretation of these results?(an antenna in two different spaces)

These figures show the boundary condition for two cases the antenna ,lossy medium and the surrounding air boundary condition in the second case is shown as below: I think in two cases I've applied the boundary condition, correctly. The type of the boundary condition in each of two cases...

what's the interpretation of these results?(an antenna in two different spaces)

in fact, the simulation is intended to show an antenna in the lossy medium . so, the simulation for this medium is acceptable rather than free space, right?

what's the interpretation of these results?(an antenna in two different spaces)

Dear volker_muehlhaus I changed the excitation signal duration like the following figure and increased the time duration but the previous result obtained again without any particular change.(i.e in aspect of ripple existance) I know that this antenna has been designed for the lossy medium...

what's the interpretation of these results?(an antenna in two different spaces)

dear FvM you are right because the S11 is the ratio of the V(reflected) to the V(incident) and if it be larger than 1 the reflected wave should be larger than incident wave that it is not physically possible. but assume the S11 is actually the return loss plot. so what's your interpretation of...

what's the interpretation of these results?(an antenna in two different spaces)

Dear friends I've designed an antenna for (402-405MHz)frequency band to implant ir in a lossy medium the antenna configuration ,the S11 result and the port signals (i.e incident and reflected signals)are shown in Fig.1 In the other case I simulated the mentioned antenna in the free space and...

How can I plot the defined objects in Matlab?

Dear friends I'm trying to execute the FDTD code of this book: "The Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetics With MATLAB Simulations" In the chapter 3 I want to the see the objects defined by the define_geometry.m and show something like the following Figure...

which of the antennas has the better radiation characteristic?

Dear Frank thanks for your reply.these antenna are embedded in a lossy medium and what's important to me is the SAR(specific absorption rate) of these antennas but it's also important to know which of them has better radiation characteristic.I konw the radiation characteristic is determined in...

which of the antennas has the better radiation characteristic?

Dear friends, Hi I have two different antennas with the following Z ans S11. I know that an antenna radiates when the image component of the input impedance be equal zero. I want to know in theses figures which antenna has the better radiation properties? and why?dose it possible just by looking...

[SOLVED] Designing elliptical patch antenna using superstrate in CST

It was same problem for me when i wanted to design the PIFA antenna in a lossy medium there wasn't any deterministic relation to do it,so i must use trial and error. in fact i don't know for your design is there any deterministic equation or not.The writer of the mentioned paper had referenced...

    3D plot problem in MATLAB

Dear emresel It's me again  sorry,I tried to understand your useful code I exactly want an smooth surface something like the attached Figure. I used the this command but the result didn't change it's shape to the smoother one. so I used this code to get the smoother surface...

[SOLVED] Designing elliptical patch antenna using superstrate in CST

General speaking ,using the superstrate layer because of increasing the size of antenna , it cause to reduce the resonate frequency. in some case by using this layered we can tune our antenna to resonate at a desired frequency.

[SOLVED] Designing elliptical patch antenna using superstrate in CST

using CST,you can use parametric sweep to find the best thickness of the superstrate I think it's not any deterministic relation for thickness of superstrate so the general solution is trial and error.

    ANSYS and HFSS coupling

I've worked with ANSYS and HFSS separately but I've never linked them together. As I know we can import the model with .sat expansion into HFSS program.I'm not sure that ANSYS provide this exporting expansion or not, look for the export expansion in ANSYS first then try to find the different...
