I think the solution for this is simple IR tx and IR rx which can go upto 3 meters. The only problem what I see it's placement because there is no diagram.

Replace L7805 with normal KA7805 or similar.
The prefix L of 7805 is for low current.

It is motor problem please check if they have 0.1uF caps between + and -. Moreover L7805 is low current regulator it may blow if you exceed the limits

I think you should try the following.
1. Add the path of libraries. If they are of older version then it will give errors. If it is as a project then you to copy the respective library file to your prject directory.
