65 nm Process and VCO - VCO suffer from high phase noise

Re: 65 nm Process and VCO Whats your offset frequency? -100dbc@10khz is not difficult.

Are SpectreRF VCO phase noise results trustworthy?

poddar+vco I still doubt there is some simulation setting problems Maybe you should check the PN contribution first

suggestion on how to soft sharp v-f curve of VCO

What's the oscillator frequency ? The parameters of inductor (L) and varactor(C) ?
  4. P

Positive Phase Noise in Spectre PSS

According to the oscillator PN curve model, this sim results are not reasonable. I think you should check the simulation setting.

suggestion on how to soft sharp v-f curve of VCO

v/f curve Such a high Kvco is necessary? 1Ghz/V ? Can you give some detailed parameters? Like oscillator freq, LC or Ring?

    Pll loop filter parameter caculator

pll caculator Thank you for reply The additional 3rd RC pole should mean 20 dB attenuation. I've input some value to caculate, but it seems the time constant results are not reasonable... Anyway , Lance ,Thanks again !!

    Pll loop filter parameter caculator

loop filter calculator Does anyone use this loop filter caculator: **broken link removed** I wonder whats the meaning of the last parameter :" Desired attenuation from the low pass filter" This is a 3rd loop filter, should it be 60dB? or the default value 20 dB? many thanks!!
