Hi. If you want to connect USB device to MCU( not to PC), MCU must contain USB host peripheral. I don't known slall MCU with USB host integrated. You can look in FTDI and Cypress for USB host controllers.

Hi. Pama, I thing thath hardware changed too, because of 3V support, ICD-S40 doesn't support 3V devices. Firmware update for old ICD's( <= ICD-S40 and old ICD-U40) stop long time ago with icdfirmware-01-39.fw(ver. 1.39).

Hi. schematics posted in this topic isn't the real ICD-U40, this schematics are ICD-S40 with replaced MAX232 with USB->RS232 convertor.
And I thing CCS team never release support for dspic for these schematics.

Hi, sohail_akram. Do you make icd-u40, beacouse this schematik have some problems make it working(missing eeprom file for FT232R too) and it is not original icd-u40 onli icd-s40 with usb-to rs232 converter.
