As far as I know Avnet doesn't deals in only dollars and not rupees. This can be a problem for an individual developer.
Otherwise no doubt the original boards from Xilinx are of very good quality.

I ma also from Pune. Once upon a time I also wanted to make my own kit but the costs have always been prohibitive. Making your own kit will make you rpoorer by atleast 60000 - 70000. Buying one will cheaper.

Has anybody here tried out a PCB antenna for a handheld device. Especially for Zigbee or IEEE 802.11 b/g. What can be the range of the PCB or a chip antenna
when it is enclosed in plastic cabinet.

Nowadaya many of the PDA's with WIfi support come without any visisble antenna. Do they use a chip antenna or a PCB antenna, or is just thatthe Antenna is just tucked inside the PDA cabinet.

Please tell me which LCD did you use. PXA270 cannot directly interface to 24 bit LCD. For 24 bit colors one has to use a Smart LCD's which have their own frame buffer.
