I guess that you used high electric permitivity substrate and the proposed operating frequency is also high.
With a high electric permitivity, most of the CPW field (E & H) will be concentrate around G-S-G surface. In this case, I think you don't need to extend your wave port...

Additional recommendation for you, the lumped port's impedance should be defined properly. For example, an opened two-wire line is feed with a 300 Ω lumped port.

The 3-port devices using microstrip structure also can be called: Power divider, Power spliter..
From what I'm thinking, you should better get some background knowledge for this kind of transmission line and its corresponding applications.

Most of present theories assume that the proposed microstrip antenna has a infinite ground plane then It will resonate at the length of λ/4. That's the reason why resizing ground plane size at a certain value causes the change of resonated frequency, I think.
