Safety in off grid transformerless inverter

Hello everyone, Is it safe to touch with your body, the low voltage (say 12V) pv panels non-insulated wires connected to an off-grid transformerless inverter? The topology of the inverter is: First a Boost dc-dc converter ( maybe two stages) and then an h-bridge (output 220VAC). My question...

Thanks guys that clarify my question!!

Bluetooth HC-05 serial speed rate vs Bluetooth transmission speed

Hello everyone, Why is the maximum serial speed rate of HC-05 (460800 baud rate) lower than the Bluetooth transmission rate ( maybe 2 Mbps or 3 Mbps with EDR) ? How can it be transmitted at a higher speed?? Please help I can't figure it out Thanks in advance Reference...

What is the formula for the gain of pwm modulator in an SPWM inverter

Hello everyone, Could you possibly tell me the formula for the pwm modulator gain in an SPWM inverter application. The carrier is triangular with V_TRI_peak, going from -1 to 1 Is the pwm modulator gain 1/ V_TRI_PEAK OR 1/V_TRI_PEAK_TO_PEAK ? Thanks in advance

    Inverter circuit 320v or 400v

Hello everyone!! I was reading and I have also the same question of this thread. If you use 400V as dc bus for 230 VAC output voltage, the peak voltage will be 400V (not 230*1.41) in the SPWM waveform. Can 230 VAC loads withstand 400V peak voltage when they are design for 325V peak...

    Constant current to the load

Hey FvM thanks for your excellent reply!! The inductance could be built with iron core (because of the 50 Hz cut-off frequency ) or it must be built with ferrite with air gap?

    Constant current to the load

Hello everyone, I have read this paper: **broken link removed** It is about using a T-LCL immitance converter at the output of a DC-AC inverter. I think I understand that this immitance converter is a constant output current (vin constant), so it is independent of the load. Ioutput = Vin/Zo...

    Fuse selection in flyback converter

Hi c_mitra, I agree with you that the fuse is selected with rms current , but I do not understand why you recommend a slow blow type. Could you possibly explain a bit more or suggest a source of information. Thanks

    Help in identifying MOV rating.

Hi Asimov, you must be careful if that inrush current limiter (thermistor) brake. You probably have a short circuit downstream that part. You can measure with ohmmeter between one leg of thermistor on the PCB and ground ( or Line or neutral) you should trace the circuit a little bit.

Does a push pull converter need an output inductor

Hello everyone, Does a push pull converter need an output inductor?? This schematics have no output inductor... What is the output delta I (ripple current ) when there is no output inductor?? Thanks

What's the purpose of this third winding in this pc power supply circuit diagram?

Hey thanks for reply. But if high side npn transistor is on, would the low side transistor turn on a little because of the base pull up resistor to +Vdcbus? and kaboom:lol:

What's the purpose of this third winding in this pc power supply circuit diagram?

Hello everyone, please can you help me answer this two questions about a PC power supply with half bridge topology. Please see the image I highlighted the components.8-) 1 - Whats the purpose of the third winding in the driver transformer?? 2 - Whats the purpose of the pull up resistor (330...

    PIC RMS calculation C-code

Thanks for your reply. I want to do true rms calculation with a microcontroller without knowing the frequency of a non sinusoidal signal, so my measurement window won't be full periods. I will calculate it with N Vrms = sqrt (sum (v[i]*v[i])/N) i=1 but...

    PIC RMS calculation C-code

Hey FvM how are you ? How do i do the low pass filtering (for not full periods), it must be done on the circuit like an RC filter or how?? Or in software but i don't know how because if i average all the samples i lose the "instantaneous" waveform... Thanks in advance

Can I use an air core output inductor in a forward converter?

Hello everyone Can I use an air core output inductor in a forward converter instead one with ferrite?? Is there any difference in the performance of the converter? Thanks
