I'm now designing a on-chip balun. two methods may be adopted.
First, get sp. file from momentum simulation,and use this sp.file to embedded in the rest of circuit do the full simulation such as dc ac noise tran pss ect.
Second, to model RLCK use it to simulate instead balun.

Mixer or not
Can anybody design a 3.5G Mixer with 15dBm iip3,16dB Conversion gain? Can it be implemented in 0.13um CMOS 2.5V supply voltage?

As the subject point out, How to simulate the NF of multiports of block? when simulate the NF need first define a input port/voltage/current as noise source,then you get the deteriorateion of SNR for the block.that's ok for differential input block.but how to get for a four phase input such...

I guess there maybe some optimum value for IIP3-NF under certain current .
Is it possible to achieve iip3 around 10dBm NF<15dB current tail<1mA 2G downconverting to 10MHz using .35 process?

thanks to safwatonline: it is passive load just resistor I adopt the conventional gilbert cell .the current/size unchanged leads to NF changed. surprising or not!

yes, thanks , indeed the joined one get better noise figure :D,why? Can you expain? two legs get equal current before and after the change, the transistors size remain also ,which affect the noise figure?

It’s weird thing happened when I simulate the NF of mixer. I changed the tail current MOSFET: one symbol split into two W/L remain the same but the results tell different. Can you tell me why? thank you in advance!
