Dear sirs, I would like to collect from you some opinions regarding pcb layout programs. In my work I used for years Altium Designer SE08 and previously I used Orcad Layout and a limited version of Eagle as a hobbyist.
I would like to learn to use a free pcb layout cad (I'm in love with Altium...
Dear erikl I needed a circuit like one in the image attached (somethings that cuts voltage over 40V); my question wasn't clear, my bad. I wasn't able to make it work until now (i was simulating with a wrong LTspice library), so now the problem is solved thanx for trying to help .

Hi all I need to design a cheap circuit (with bjt linear regulator) capable of regulating the voltage dropout on a power supply line independently from the supply current but dependently from the supply voltage.
The circuit should be able to generate a (for example) 5V dropout on the line if...
Dear all I have a question regarding IEC 62301.
Can someone tell me if the regulation relative to standby power of a device (that must be under 0.5W) refers only to active power or also to reactive power?
Thanx in advance, best regards

Hello Boarders, I need to implement an IAP (In application Programming) on a stm8 equipped board. The STM8 after receiving some specifics commands via uart must load his firmware from an external Flash/Eeprom. Is there any way to implement this? Do you know some similar projects?

Thank you for your answer; I am aware of the temperature curve.
So, if I understand correctly, the CTR of the RANK D for example (minimum is CTR=15/5=3) should be 3 if forward current is 5 milli amps but decreases to 3*(230/270)= 2.55 if driven at 2.5 milli amps ?
Hello boarders.
I'm analyzing a board wich uses a SHARP opto-isolator model PC357 and I have some issues with the datasheet. If you have a look at this link of datasheet:
http://sharp-world.com/products/device/lineup/data/pdf/datasheet/pc357n_e.pdf
On page 5 they show you a table in which...
Hello edaboarders, the boss have just commissioned me a new interesting work.
I have to realize a (low cost) board which drives a LCD TFT display (resolution 480 x 272 rgb, just static images). At the momement we thought to use the RX600 family of Renesas as MCU.
I'd like to receive some...
It depends to the power supply type, for example if you use a ldo linear regulator like LM2931 for 3.3V you certainly need a capacitor greater than 100uF. It depends also to the load type (low/high frequency, resitive - inductive ecc) and to the load regulation perfomance you need. Be more...
Hello eadboarders, I'm going to design a very low cost 3AAA series Ni-Mh battery charger with a single led driver included. In these days I have studied how to charge safely NiMh batteries and I read this interesting article (Unfortunately no source code available on ST site).
**broken link...
Thanx for the reply but in our application we need passive tags (no battery inside) and high distance reader (5-10m). Another bad aspect is that if the passive tag is stiched on clothes, part of the signal will be reduced from human body. I read about RuBee that is a technology similar to RFID...
