Hi,
I'm writing my thesis and I have to translate the title in english. I'm not native english speaker and I'd like to ask opinion on following title:
Effects of Wiring on Printed Inverted F-Antenna
Suggestions, corrections, etc...?
Thanks,
Markus
Re: Modes in Waveguide
Relating to previous answer:
For example TE10 mode means that electric field has one half period along x-axis (in cartesian case i.e. in rectangular waveguide). For example from
http://www.amanogawa.com/archive/docs/EM15.pdf
you can find fine documentation. There is an...
Crosspolarization
Hello!
I'm wondering what's the main disadvantage of crosspolarization? Will it cause lose in transmitted or recieved power and how does this depend on crosspolarization?
Thanks for advance,
Markus
lumped port in HFSS 9.1
Hi!
I've tried lumped port excitation on microstrip and I'm wondering what kind of port face should I use. I've not found answer from hfss help.
Is that correct to define lumped port face heigth equal to thickness of the substrate and width equal to width of the...
Hello,
How can I plot the results (with respect of frequency) of parametric sweep in same plot. I have tried to select design via HFSS->Results->Solution Data and HFSS->Results->Browse Solution but I think I just manage to plot the nominal design.
Thanks,
Markus
I noticed that checking the box Add electric shielding around port region will probably overcome instability problems (I'm performing antenna calculations).
Does somebody know what does this option do. Add PEC around port somehow? Does it affect farfield calculations or smtg?
Thanks,
Markus
Re: photonic bandgap
Hi,
Does anyone have an idea how to get Transligth. It seems that Andrew L. Reynolds homepage no longer exists in Glasgow University server.
Thanks,
Markus
OK, I guess I have already managed to do some things. It seems that you can't consider waveguide port in calculation domain but lumped port. Also it seems that waveguide port cannot be on same plane as radiation boundary. Maybe it's also better to use rectangular box as boundary rather than...
Hi!
I'm newbie with Ansoft HFSS and trying to simulate lambda/4 microstrip antenna. Until now I have
- drawn a plane on outer cross section of microstrip feed for waveguide port (not assigned to any material. should it be?)
- defined the plane to waveguide port and defined terminal line from...
Re: Adding a new material
I'm not sure about 9.1 but in 9.2 you can add new material in following way:
select 3D Modeller -> Assign Material -> Add Material
You should check at least relative permittivity property, probably also dielectric loss tangent. Other properties are relative...
Re: RE: Simulation Question
That means you have at least two different materials on the boundary, to which your boundary condition is open. I guess you might try to set "open" boundary to "open (add space)" from Solve->Boundary Condition. Or you could add your self some additional space to the...
I've also had difficulties when trying to simulate antennas provided by different authors (mainly from K.L. Wong book: Planar antennas for wireless communication).
The problem is to model return loss correctly. I've had errors around +10dB or even more. Of course, me neither have an idea if...
