    Yes, this is true in my case . I had falsely understood that S21 provides the power gain taking as the overall power provided by the source as an input (ie Pin=Eg^2/Rsource) but now it's all clear to me . Thank you for your answers ?

    Is it possible to shorten sma connectors grond pins?

    the pcb i have designed is very small (about 1cmx1cm) the SMA's i have have ground pins of 4.75 mm in length so a part of them exceeds the ground plain and fall on the transmission lines of my circuit. That's why i need to shorten the ground pins of my connector.

    @barry , I use the ROG4003C substrate with Er=3.55 . The problem is caused by the substrate height(i chose 1.524 mm) . @jiripovlika. The input frequency is only 10 MHz , is the possible mismatch going to cause problems? Sorry if my questions seem naive but this is my very first PCB.
