well Eugen just to tell u...i ruled out the option of car battery after understanding the facts that it needs to be carefully used and the load i am using doesnt draw much current....so the car battery might just damage my motors and electronics all together something i cant risk...any better...

Analog Delay
signal delays in digital circuits is achieved by using memory circuits which will hold the value then output it at the correct instant...
in analog circuits u use buffers or all pass filters or to a A/D conversion and use the digital delay concept and just before transmission u do...

first thing...get some backgorund info on LDR (Light dependent resistors) or IR (Infra red sensors)
coz most of them are used....when smoke fills the chamber in which the sensor is placed the resistance changes....accordinly u can turn on the alarm...dont forget the helped...

in any calculation of the circuits....involving beta....the hfe should be taken as the avg value...as considering the loadline and the beta variation...a safe approach is to use the mid value.....this is what i have practised..
interfacing external memory to 8051 is very easy....
but u should make sure are u using the internal memory or not...if u are using the internal ROM and then adding external RAM the addressing is different and if u choose to use only external RAM/ROM then the addressing is differnent...so tell...

beta of any transistor depends on the manufacturing material...along with the doping levels....the characteristic resistivity of the materials...the bandgap voltage....many factors....if u still want to know abt the beta dependence of transistor use any Basic Electronics...

well farhantariq.....i have never ever come across this notion of electromagnetic signal being effected by Earth's Gravitational pull.....

for once u can try GPRS based home automation....this is wht i tried in my final yr project....which has electronics as well as communication happening from the mobile to net and net to your pc and pc to your microcontroller.....and then the devices.,...

well guys to add a twist to the tale....the combination seems more like a SCR....i think the operation would resemble more like that...but only way to find it out is to implement the circuit....
8051 writing in assembler
I suggest Assembly...as it has instructions over which u can have control i mean to say is that u know the contents of all the registers after each step....well this might not necessarily be the case in C....as C uses many temporary variables...and consumes...
