CMOS Bandgap: Effect of BJT's low 'beta' and high base res?

Re: CMOS Bandgap: Effect of BJT's low 'beta' and high base r Hi All, Let me derive eqn for VBG_Real for the fig given by palmeiras at 23 Feb 2010 22:10 with following assumptions: (a). Two BJT m's respectively are m=1 & m=N=8. (b). β and Rb are equal for both BJTs. (c). ΔVBE multification...

CMOS Bandgap: Effect of BJT's low 'beta' and high base res?

Re: CMOS Bandgap: Effect of BJT's low 'beta' and high base r Hello All, I am in complete agreement with 'sunbeam' because it sounds most logical/sensible. => The effect of β and Base Resistance(Rb) on VBG for a CMOS Bandgap with PNP BJT is only through Volatge drop across 'Rb'. Now with...

How to improve the bandgap's high frequency PSRR?

Dear saro_k_82, Firstly thanks a lot for such a detailed reply. And pardon me for the delay in my reply. Yeah, this will be a risky Architecture. Thanks for the clarification. The caps will be on F1 & F2 nets to the GND, right? I am afraid.... this might be somewhat workable only if the...

How to improve the bandgap's high frequency PSRR?

ipsc: What's the trick to fix the 1st problem alone? Dear saro_k_82, I compiled, above, your comments on the Stability and/or Startup problems, due to Mismatches, associated with the Architecture under discussion & one of the solutions proposed by you for the same. I took the liberty to make...

a fundamental but tricky question on feedback

Hi maninnet, Your approach is correct; But you have considered feedback as Voltage-Voltage or Voltage-series; where as the the actual f/b in circuit is Voltage-Current or Voltage-Shunt i.e. o/p is sampled and current is fed into I/P. So to analyze this circuit correctly, you have to 1st convert...

How to design a bandgap voltage reference? (basic)

Hi Fei, can you please specify what do you mean by "I can’t get the right result"? Do you mean curve is not correct or the bandgap voltage is not correct? Regards

How about this bandgap current source?

The left part is commonly used wide-swing bias mechanism. It performs the job of subtractor to an extent, though it's not a complete/perfect subtractor. I thought you might be using some subtractor, which is not given in figure. Regards
