Hi to everyone
i've a question for a skilled user, i've to design a superheterodine (100MHz 2GHz) receiver with an up conversion at 3GHz ad one down conversion at 50MHz . I've to use two VCO from minicircuits but i've read that it be used with pll to have a stability.
So PLL limited my sweep...
Hi to everyone,
i'm traying to explain my problem, i've to measure a RF pulsed signal from an antenna with an high S/R ratio at large bandwidth (3GHz).
I've found many costant signal that i don't want , i talk about personal phone, wifi, gps, broadcast television ecc, soo to avoid many of this...
Have you tried to use a ceramic substrate like these:
PD 270 270 5x10-3 0.25 Pacific Ceramic Inc.
PD 160 160 1x10-3 0.25 Pacific Ceramic Inc.
D77 77 5x10-4 0.2 Morgan Electro Ceramics Ltd
Titania 192 85 1x10-3 0.2 (?) Ceramtech North America
we use the last of the list but it is soo expancive...
I find the patents (US20050078044) it's very exaustive, with dimension and more but sfortunatly it is dated april 2005 so it is still valid!
Thanks to everyone!
Hi, i've in mind to make by my self a double ridged horn antennna (for 2GHz an above), anyone know some open project with dimension or similar?
This kind of antenna is much expancive for me because it is patented?
thanks any suggestion will be much apreciated.

kit de calibration vna pcb
Hi to everyone,
I know that for a vna (our is E5071 from agilent) calibration is required but sfortunatly i don't have a kit (agilent don't provide it with a vna!) , my measure is still good? What's the uncertainty?I've to buy absolutly a calibration kit ?
Thanks in...
what kind of filter do you prefere?the firts choice is: flatted, sharp edge, delay group (for impulse use), for example i prefere use Ansoft Designer but Genesys is also good for the filter design
the last change is use a mini-circuits smd filter
Hello,
i'm working now with the bias tee from Mini-circuits because my target is use the same cable (coaxial cable) for the signal and for the power supply like an antenna system.
I know that with high frequency is too simple devide the DC from the RF signal (with capacitor and inductor) but my...
Actually my sensivity is about -75dBm i've reached this feature with three mmic with 20dB each , one schottky diode from avago and a video buffer. The video buffer is the last step, because the diode is terminated on 10Kohm then the signal is decoupled with this video buffer (bandwitdh about...
Thanks for the replies,
my first experiment was using ad8318 but it have the log amplifier ( over seven or lot decades) and any impulse will be confused with noise, infact the schottly diode is almost linear for small signal but for high signal it work with the square law.
For example i used a...
Hello,
I try to explain my problem: i've to convert a RF impulse ,width about 1us or less with frequency up to 1GHz or 2GHz into a baseband impulse viewable with my scope (100MHz).
My first idea was to use a not biased schottky detector and two mmic with +40dB of amplification with very simple...
tektronix scope tds520 repair
Someone can help me for upgrade the firmaware of my tds520,i know that exist one floppy that can repair the scope fault...can you help me?
There is some manual for this scope where i can find the value of each test point?
thanks in advance.
