Anyone ever heard about double reflection?

Hi dear all, Recently, I was desgning a broadband driver. One of the paper said "In broadband applications, the buffer must drive an on chip back termination resistor of about 75 ohm in addition to an off chip load of 50 ohm in order to reduce the double reflections" Anyone know this...

cadence analog design environment cant plot current

Re: cadence plot current irfansyah, I think I have run into the same problem with you, did you solve this? Thanks.

which adder is of low power?

Hi all, Recently, I am doing a homework which is to design a 32-bit adder with low power(Verilog HDL).As far as I know there are many different structures of adder, like Carry-bypass, Carry select, Carry look ahead....... Since I am new to digital design, I am not sure which...

Improve the AMP for the buffer or vice versa?

Hi guys I have designed an AMP, and also a buffer for test. But a large Cap is brought by the buffer, which is a problem and limits the BW. I have come up with an idea, Ind peaking in the last stage of the AMP to overcome it. Thinking it for twice, I feel the direction is a little wrong...

    peaking(frequeny domain) V.S. overshoot(time domain)

Thank you! And I remember that you have ever said "When we see a overshoot there must be a feedback", I do not fully undertand this. I think that if there is complex poles there may be overshoot. Could you please explain it in detail. ---------- Post added at 21:43 ---------- Previous post...

    peaking(frequeny domain) V.S. overshoot(time domain)

Thanks a lot, in fact my ckt does have a feedback as shown in the pic. Assuming that, every G(s) has the form of A/(1+sRC), and Gf(s)=B/(1+sRC); Due to the interleaving feed back, the six poles,2 real and 2 pair of complex, are splitting. I see that one pair of the complex pole will have a...

    peaking(frequeny domain) V.S. overshoot(time domain)

I know that in a 2nd order system, there is a standard description about Q or damping ratio. How about higher order? Recently, I have desgned a cascade AMP which is used in the open-loop condition. In the bode diagram, the plot(Mag V.S. Freq) is flat without peaking, while in the trans digram...

    peaking(frequeny domain) V.S. overshoot(time domain)

Hi, guys I'am very confused with the concept of peaking and overshoot. Dose they descripe the same thing just in the different domain? If not, is there any relationship between them? Thanks a lot~~~

Anyone know about how to observe the eye diagram by Cadence spectre simulation

I am now designing a LA(Limiting Amplifier), and I want to see the eye diagram by simulation, but I don't know how? Thanks a lot.

What is the virtual instrument in the RF&microwave measurement?

Dear all, Recently, I am learning something about RF&microwave measurement. And I heard about "virtual instrument"in the measurement. But I'm really confused of it. Is it a software? How we use our RF&microwave knowlegde in the "virtual instrument"?

    help on Limiting amplifier

Hi dear all, Recently I read some papers about limiting amplifer, but I'am not fully understand it. In RF design we often heard about PA,mixer,LNA. Why do we seldom heard of LA? Can someone explain what's the limiting amplifier used for in the RF circuit? In what situation that we need it...

change the R&C for the miller effect

Thanks a lot. Why is a mos transistor placed first will have a better control of the resistance?

change the R&C for the miller effect

If I change the position of the Rc & Cc, how can we explain the miller effect. Does it have other effect on the whole circuit? Thanks~

Left half plane zero & Right half plane zero

The following picture has two circuits that contain the different way of compensation for polos & zeros. As I know that the 1-st(left)one has a zero on the LHP that approximate equals gm/Cc, the 2-nd(right)one has a zero on the RHP that approximate equals gm*rds*gm/Cc. I may ask that which...
