    Automatic part number fetch

I have a fairly bigger BOM with almost 300 components generated from schematics. Would it be possible to automate the fetching of manufacturer part number, given the basics specs of the components?. For example If the component description is 1 uf/50V, X7R, Case 0805, is it possible to fetch...

    0-10V analog isolator design

Oops, missed that one. It is required for DC applications BW=5Hz.

    0-10V analog isolator design

I need a simple scheme to isolate the incoming 0-10V signal. I surveyed and narrowed to two choices, first being ISO124 and second being linear optocoupler. Help required to finalize the choice. Accuracy of isolated output shall be 0.03% FSR

    pulse to DC conversion

I have a input signal ,whose width varies from 0 to 20ms with resolution of 4us. I have to convert this pulse to an analog DC voltage corresponding to 0-10V. I need all hardware solution without the use of micrcontrollers (customers request). Constraints: Pulses are noisy Pulse to DC converter...

    identify structure format automatically

I have two applications A and B (linux client server). Application A sends a structure to B over TCP. Application B decodes the structure received and completes the processing. This is all fine. Suppose structure of application A changes, it becomes mandatoryto change the code in B. Else...

need clarification on ISS and emulator

I was googling to find out the difference between cycle accurate instruction set simulator vs software emulation. I was not very clear the fine line difference between them. It seemed synonymous to me. Could anybody clearly explain the difference and when to choose one?

    Commerical IPs vs free

Ok. I get it. What is the currently accepted verification framework. Should we use UVM for even simple designs such as SPI or UART? WHat are alternate frameworks which we can apply based on the complexity of the designs

    Commerical IPs vs free

What do you think open cores IPs are lacking and how do they make money?

    Commerical IPs vs free

I was looking on open cores which has tonnes of IPs under its basket. Wondering about the differences between commerical IPs offered by lead companies such as Mentor, Cadence versus the free ones. Is it similar to windows vs linux?

potential transformer in metering circuit-Is it necessary?

Hi FvM I did refer to TI and AD tech notes before posting. I did not see any PT being used in the PCB for further stepping down. I could see just the voltage divider.

potential transformer in metering circuit-Is it necessary?

I have to develop a low cost compact metering circuit. Inputs are from CT and PT. Inputs from PT (field side) is 3 phase 415V. Now should I use step down transformer in metering PCB or can I directly use voltage divider and isolator to sense the input voltage? What is the standard practice?

Is this sensor intelligent or passive?

what is surprising is no tempco is provided(presuming DAC is used) and device maintains accuracy for wide temp ranges

Is this sensor intelligent or passive?

I was going through the datasheet from the link https://www.bourns.com/docs/product-datasheets/amm20b.pdf?sfvrsn=79b497f1_20. Is this sensor intelligent? I am suspecting from the datasheet specs which states about processing speed (page 2 of 3). Please clarify as no additional information is...

analog differentiator with large time value

Hi FvM I have to build a rate estimator for a process which varies slowly. Initiate an alarm if the value crosses threshold value. Basically determine the slope of the trajectory within the time of 1 minute. Prime issue is to detect some changes intermittent to the 1 minute time band. As...

analog differentiator with large time value

Yes I checked it out on rick lyons article. However after some simulations, i discovered that in analog version equation for a differentiator, RC dvin/dt, the factor RC denotes the time duration when the slope needs to be estimated. High frequency will be let through as it is a high pass filter...
