Re: ads cpw
I've also seen a similar behavior (discrepancy between Z0 in Momentum and ADS components in schematic for CPW lines).
From my observations, the discrepancy was larger for larger width of the signal trace. In these cases, the s-parameter and consequently Z0 of the line were...
skill based pcells
It didn't let me edit it when CDF Type=base, but with CDF type=user , I added a parameter with following settings:
parameter type=string
name=lvsignore
defValue=TRUE
or
parameter type=boolean
name=lvsignore
prompt=lvsignore
defValue=t
but, then in the schematic, I can't...
lvsignore ture
Hi,
I want to have parasitic capacitors be included in the schematic but that won't pass lvs then. Importantly, I implement some caps by metal layers, but then the schematic cannot have caps to pass lvs. I wonder how I can do that. I tried to add lvsignore to the cdf of the cap...
deep nwell isolated nmos
What difference would it make if we have DNW for PMOS as it's already in its own Nwell?
What about the DNW doping compared to NW doping?
why nmos not in well
Hi,
What about pmos transistors? Is there any reason for having/not having deep n-well underneath pmos transistors. nmos transistors should be put in dnw to isolate their bulk from the global substrate. But, is there any difference between having nwell only (without dnw)...
Thanks for your reply. I actually, care more about the eduations, than the waveforms, as I have manu complicated equations..., but waveforms can be obtained by re-simulating.
Thanks.
By output parameters, I mean the functions that I define for post-processing the simulated waveforms, e.g., value(abs(dft(...)) 1G).
In the cases hat I mentioned, sometimes it does not let me select all the boxes, as a reslut it does not show the defined outputs (output functions/equations)...
Hi,
Sometimes tha defined output parameters are not saved in ADE state files, or they are not loaded. defined variables and simulation and all other settings are loaded, but not the ouptut parameters. Does anybody have similar experience and how to avoid it or recover the output parameters?
Thanks
I am simulating an amplifier using .pss in Sprectre. The output waveform has different amplitudes in different .pss runs.
These are the settings that I simulated with:
- errpreset (Accuracy): conservative
- tstab is long enough for the circuit to settle
- Integration method...
When I change the number of fingers or width of the transistos in Cadence, the total width, does not change properly. It works fine when w and f are numbers, but as soon as I use a variable for either of them, it messes up and the total width staye as it used to be and does not change...
s2p spectre transient
Based on the nport application note from Cadence, linear interpolation usually works better than spline. By zero frequency, you mean resonance frequency? I even increased the frequency range to include the resonance frequency; didn't help. Actually, since the variation...
s-parameter file in spectre dc block
I don't get your method.
If the number of ports are large and/or the model has many compoenents, it's not possible to find the values by hand.
spectre s model view cadence
How would you set it up in ADS to find the components?
I couldn't find any element in ADS for matching the S-parameters. The way that I set it up is that I put the S-parameter data as a n-port device (SNP) and I put the schematic of the lumped model to fit with n...
