sim900 interface with pc and max232

hello, I'm working with the GSM/GPRS sim900. I want to interface the module with PC. in this datasheet page 7 & 8 the manufacturer recommanded max3221 i saw too many people saying they used max232 for level adaptation and it worked well for them. i don't understand But the max232 levels is...

    zener diode for esd protection

hello, :-D i'm designing a GSM/GPRS module wich is the sim900. in the datasheet the manufacturer recommanded TVS diodes for esd protection between the module and the sim card holder as it is explained here in page 38 . i didn't find this type of diodes in shopes here in my country and i thought...

    sim900 receiving data over gprs

hello : ) my project is to make my gprs modem sim900 communicate with a distant web server using tcp mode. i made the sending data code successfully. concerning the data receiviing i don't know so much how to proceed : i have just to wait for a response in a while condition just like ...

    SIM900 and Li-ion 3.7V power supply

SIM900 has 3 pins for power supply named VBAT. In page 50 in the datasheet, the average current supply for the GPRS data mode (my use with this module) is up to 440mA. i think it is ok with my nokia battery. For the capacitors i was not ok because when they talked about the recommanded solution...

    SIM900 and Li-ion 3.7V power supply

hello tpetar, it is mentionned "3 VBAT pins are dedicated to connect the supply voltage. The power supply of SIM900 has to be a single voltage source of VBAT= 3.4V...4.5V. It must be able to provide sufficient current in a transmit burst which typically rises to 2A"

    testing SIM900 in breadboard

hello, SIM900 is a GSM/GPRS module. it is small with about 5cm/5cm dimensions and it has about 60 pins. i'm wondering if it is possible to test it in a breadboard before making a PCB ? thank you

    SIM900 and Li-ion 3.7V power supply

hello, it is mentionned in the datasheet, page 21 of the GSM/GPRS module SIM900 that it is recommanded to connect a 3.6V li-ion cell battery directly to VBAT pins. Also, the power supply must be able to provide up to 2A. i have a 3.7v/1024mah li-ion nokia battery. first question : can this...
