    0.13um TSMC RF process 4.8GHz VCO

    I'm designing 4.8Ghz VCO with 0.13um TSMC RF process. The PN of 4.5mA VCO is about -82dBc/Hz@10K,-106dBc/Hz@100KHz, and -126dBc/Hz@1M. I want to improve PN, but found it's very hard. So, Could you please tell me if I can get better PN no increasing current? thanks a lot and waiting for your reply!

    about VCO modeling do you mean that when resonance frequency changes, the Kvco will change too ?

    Re: sensitivity of VCO the explain by biff44 is very great! thanks to biff44. to decide the sensitivity of VCO, you can set up a PLL loop noise model to see the effect of different KVCO.

    yes, I also found there might be error about input referred noise when you simulating PPF's noise

    it may increase the series resistance and parasitic cap. if your working frequency isn't very high, I think it's ok!

    why we need oscillator I am not sure about it. In my view, PSS is for large signal simulation.
