I am using a 16f877 PIC to drive a 16x2 LCD,
if I run the code to where the lift checks if between floors , all is good, if I run code to end , at the start, I get what looks like a 'y' in the display,
and rest of code seems to output weird characters,
sbit LCD_RS at RB4_bit;
sbit LCD_EN at...
hi
I have a PIC16F690, I originally set config bits to HS (external oscillator),
but, this was mistake, as I am not using external crystal/oscillator,
the program still run though ?
( the config bits read back from PICKit = 0FF2 on original units programmed, confirming HS oscillator)
Hi
will be designing new PCB, approximately 300mm square , with 30 inputs, 6 outputs, all digital
can you recommend particular type of PCB connector, to connect all peripheral I/O to limit switches etc
cost as always as strong factor
thanks
should have posted this link

anywho, thanks guys, is a surface temp issue,
these 15ohm, 50w resistors are being used as bespoke 'frost heater' . (but have usually been fixed to panel back plate. In this case they have been...
think you are correct,
the resistor, heater used is this one , I believe
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/panel-mount-fixed-resistors/0160865/
think the surface temp is way too high, and melting cabling
?
thanks
hi
i have arranged 3x 15R 50W heater resistors in parallel , as per drawing,
for some reason the heaters over heat to the point of melting cable, smoking,
( I see the bridge rec is drawn incorrectly)
any ideas?
thanks
hi
I am new to using Mikro C for PICs,
is it possible to bit test port for a '0',
or
is it case of bit testing port for '1', true, and if not, then must be '0' ?
