is there good method to reduce the chance to get oscillation in TIA-LA testing?
use off chip capacitor at the power supplies? or any other good suggestion?
Thank you very much!
I guess a scope will do the job, find it one these two papers:

I am doing a TIA circuit and I am going to measure the output noise of a TIA circuit.
I see suria3 put this below, he seems get the output voltage noise and then divided by the transimpedance gain Rf, but I donot know how to measure the output voltage noise, is it using a spetrum analyzer to...
Thank you friends,
i made a mistake here. the actually wave is like a triangular or sinewave, not a clock any more.
I input 50MHz signal input into the 500MHz scope and get 0.4V out of 0.5V. then change to a 6GHz scope, can recover the 0.5V data. then I try to use the 6GHz scope to trace a...
I change the Oscilloscope from a 500MHz one to a 6GHz one, then the reading is correct, 0.5V to 0.5V.
is it because the 500MHz bandwidth marked on the Oscilloscope is not the actually limit of the Oscilloscope, just an indication?
because I find even the 6GHz Oscilloscope cannot catch a...
i am using a Digital Data Analyzer to generate 0.5V peak to peak data but i only receive 0.4V peak to peak at my oscilloscope.
could someone tell me how could this happen?
I am thinking if I am using 50Ohm for the data analyzer and the oscilloscope, the value should be 0.25 if divided by half...
Ground Plane
May I know whether I need to put a lot of via connected to ground so the ground plane from both sides will be connected?
If the ground via is put near 2.5Gbps signal line, will it improve the PCB performance?
Thanks very much!
hello, guys,
I have a PCB circuit to convert a 2.5GHz PRBS voltage signal into a PRBS current signal at frequence of 1.25GHz, how should i choose the PCB trace width, someone says 0.3~0.5mm is good for low capacitance and some others say 1mm is good for low resistance.
If I make the trace...
MOS as a resistor
Someyimes the MOS is used in a feedback way and it determined the transimpedance Gain of a TIA circuit block.
In this case, any model or formula to follow to determine the value of the resisitor?
the predefined NMOS is given in the model and surrounded by guard ring connected to substrate, is it possible to put it in an double well? by drawing a P well in to a N well, then put the NMOS layout in?
i am afraid that in the simulation, the NMOS is using the model linking to the predefined...
Thank you for your help.
"current mode" means the input for my optical receiver is in current format, for example 10uA as the output nature of the photodiode.
i just learned that PRBS can be generated from a matlab using some scripts, or digital circuits as described above.
I will try to...
how to generate prbs
I am doing a optical receiver, now I encounter a problem to generate a PRBS input to test my circuit.
Anyone here knows how to generate the PRBS input in current format?
Thank you very much!
ieee802.3-2005 1000base-px20-u
I read from IEEE802.3ah-2004. There are lots of standards, so are the receiver sensitivity and overload power values.
For example:1000BASE-PX20-U and 1000BASE-BX20-U have different value for receiver sensitivity and overload power.
Anybody knows the difference...
On PCB, the input and output lines sometime require 50Ohm and 75Ohm,
any one here know how to calculate the width of the input and outline on the PCB, any guidelines?
