Well, for all that might be interested; let me begin with a few of my thoughts.
First, I am building a small electronic unit that has a digital display and a display activation button.

One other basic question, if I may;
Am I correct in assuming that the Red wire (and not the Black one) on the 9V battery snap is the Positive lead?
I just want to be sure before I solder all of this together.

First, I would like to say that I am pleased to be part of a community of electronic savvy folks.
I am new to electronics, so presently I'm working on kits.
However, my limited experience has already shown me that there are also many others working on kits as well.
So, with so many folks...
Oh my, because of what Kral has said in reply;
I now have to ask if, regarding the Black band;
is correct.
In other words, is Kral's reply simply a mudding of the waters through a knit-picking of terminology, or does this mean that the Black band goes the other way?
