can anybody help me in interfcaing uP's serial port with sim340E. I have connected RXD,TXD nad GND signals to uP and powered up using power key but VDD_EXt doesnot give any output signal (it should be 2.93V) and no response for AT commands. Is anyother signal required...

and what antenna length should be preffered for GSM 900/1800 MHz???shorter or longer one? I have seen one, it is half wave dipole thumb antenna(900/1800Mhz, 20ohms) with two lengths available 5cm and 10cms. i think shorter gives better reception n trnasmission...
