The whole behavior is different. Besides the efficiency is 100% for frequencies of worst return loss and low for frequencies of good RL !

could anyone tell what is the best EM simulator for calculating radiation efficiency for a microstrip antenna?
I'm simulating a paper using hfss and can't get the proper efficiency.

I don't think return loss is not true. I'm simulating a paper and RL is just like the paper but other parameters are not. it couldn't be a convergence problem as if I increase the no of passes massive increase in the complexity of the problem occurs with very slight...

I use: create far field report->rectangular plot->antenna parameters->radiation efficiency
Is it right? whats missing so I get efficiency in percentage versus frequency?

I mean not the traces on the pcb but the whole ground plane under the substrate.(BTW. is it always copper?)
the range I use is 0.5-3GHz does this apply to what u've said.

My problem is solved. if you have a graphics card just choose the suitable graphics processor.(in my case Just right clicked on the desktop Graphics properties -> switchable graphics-> high performance.)
