    @torana--I will use 8051 or the avr(mega series i.e. atmega 8 -128 series) depends on the condition... and for the thing which displays on some sort of screen....we may use a "lcd" but for a large screen it is ultra costly.....so some of persons are saying ki u should use led dot matrix array...

    atmega8,, program counter 12 bits...so how it will access full 8kb of memory flash...

    first of all thnx. for the reply sir,, so,, can i say like "in atmega8, using assembly i can go upto a maximum of 4096 number of instructions assuming every instruction takes 16 bits(here),."??

    hellow experts,, I am starting with the AVRs, so it may be a very silly question..but i am stuck with it... since i got to know that the program counter of atmega8 is of 12bits...and the flash memory is of 8KB , how can we access the remaining memory.... does the remaining memory is reserved...

    DartPlayer170--bro, let me tell you, 1.i am correctly interfacing the 7805.. 2.11V dc is measured using dc voltmeter 3.It is a db9 connector serial port where pinout is same as the above given by the "ark5230", nothing i know about filtering as the db9 connector is coming from the pc's mother...

    hellow experts, looking at the pin voltages of the serial port, I am getting approx. 11 v at some of the pins..now when i tried to use the serial port for making 5 V supply, the 7805 is not giving the output voltage... rather it is giving approximately 0.xx volts... kindly explain...

    @pjdd--I made a very simple switch (led on/off using t.v. remote) and it is working absolutely fine... in the datasheet it is given that these encoders/decoders works for "any RF or infrared transmission".....thnx. for the information... so using this one can send 16...

    @pjdd--first of all, thanks for the information.. can i say that a tsop1738 will respond to a standard tv remote i.e its output pin will show voltage variations when interfaced with t.v. remote??? also, ht12d/a/e/f..I have used these decoders/encoders with the rf modules...

    hmm,, thanks for your reply.. but what i want is...I have a remote with a few buttons that can switch on and off some of the relays and leds on other board using infrared...i.e first button for led, second for relay and so on.. i think ki this kind of circuit can be made without using controller...
