I've actually used 1uf non-polarized ceramic surface mount caps without issue on the TI max232 chip. It's cheap, and I needed small footprint surface mount components.

I think you've chosen a problem that has some terrible hurdles. First, the suggested method would not work.
A transformer can only convert AC current from one line to the other; DC will simply run through like a short. A power cap will not be able to hold enough charge to produce...

I know its kind of a pain in the butt, but have you tried a two-port cal (even though you're using one port). It should give you a bit more information to work with.
That's a really large frequency range. Have you considered cal'ing the vna for smaller increments?

as requested, here is a schematic.

I forgot to mention that each of these 74cbt3384's can be used to mux five lines at a time. You need to connect the two outputs buses together.
for instance, 1b1=2b1, 1b2=2b2, etc.

This should work for you. all you need is a few of these 74cbt3384's, a mechanical switch, and an inverter. Just invert /OE1 and connect it to /OE2...
Like my circuits teacher used to say, there's probably a thousand ways to do this. Just choose one your comfortable with.
