Better to bite the bullet....try Verilog/VHDL these are easy to understand. I think you have a software background, you are thinking in terms of C, compilers etc. FPGAs are hardware and have no code as such.
To understand better I suggest you watch some tutorials on youtube, I found the...
Thanks for the replies.
Is there anything cheaper (about 50 USD), mojo is good for learning basics, I was hoping a more recent generation would be suitable. A basic board would be ideal, I don't need any extra hardware like switches and LEDs as these I could connect easily myself, I just need...
hi,
I already have a mojo-v3 board for learning FPGA programming. I am thinking of buying another low cost board
https://www.amazon.com/RioRand-EP2C5T144-Altera-Cyclone-Development/dp/B00LEMKR92/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500713663&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=mist+fpga
for learning FPGA, is this...
Those links were very useful...
I worked most of the calculations involved, the part where I was now stuck is finding out the scaling of the pixels to the actual dimension. I think those links will help clear this..
thanks

Did you mean a CCD ? CCD is normally used for such applications but I was hoping something cheaper would work. CCD also need a suitable lens
thanks anyway
Hi,
I am trying to work out an experiment for determining distance of a target placed 800 mm away. The experiment is something like this.
A sharply focussed laser beam is targeted at a target (grey black in colour and non reflective), the laser beam is at an angle, a webcam like the Logitech...
I was thinking more in the lines of a breakout board as suggested here
https://www.knjn.com/shop.html?pg=img&src=5180
The breakout would have header pins that could be inserted into the female headers on the mojo. I realise this is not a good solution, but is better than connecting wires...
The HDMI connector can be soldered via jumper cables to the board ?
Something like this ?

Will a HDMI framer chip be required for this application ?
thanks

Hi,
I am very new to FPGA, I have experience in micro-controllers and electronics but not FPGA design.
I have identified this Mojo FPGA development board. See link
https://www.adafruit.com/product/1553
I thought this may be a good board to get started on FPGA design.
I would like to know if...
No idea about AVR, we use Microchip in our products for our automation products. We use mostly 18F series (8 bit) for controlling stepper motors and communication with external devices using RS 485 communication.
We use ARM products for mostly in-house development purposes.
ARM processors are advanced mostly 32 bit processors, these are basically system-on-chip devices or SOC.
This means the processor is like a tiny computer with quite advanced capabilities. Due to the compact size and capabilities these are used in smartphones and tablets. however due to the...
its not possible with just the matrix keyboard. However you could do a key test, in the same way that is done by a PC during bootup (ie: check if a key is pressed by mistake or stuck), the criteria here is that during startup ensure no keys are pressed,
however this will not work if only the...
Hi,
I am trying to understand the behaviour of the LM2577 regulator.
I require to generate 9 VDC (100 mA max current) output. The input voltage will start from 5 VDC and go upto 30 VDC, the output voltage and current must be maintained.
I have calculated the R1 and R2 resistance values...
thanks shaiko,
could you suggest a suitable MOSFET that I can buy online for this application. Also something that works on 3.7V DC would be suitable as I will be powering from a 3.7V battery.
thanks for the help
