Quick question - Does Xilinx Spartan II FPGA support Verilog or can it only be programmed by VHDL ?

Thanks.

it depends on the version of xilinx ISE u use..
it s independent of device...

It supports

An FPGA architecture doesn't depend on one perticular programming language.

You have to check this option with what software you are using to program the FPGA.

All Xilinx FPGA softwares support both the VHDL and Verilog.

I have ISE version 8.

Does it support Verilog?

I'm asking 'coz I've forward a request to have it installed in my company as I've dont have installation rights (thus can't check it for Verilog myself)...

Thanks for helping me out..

Nowadays VHDL and Verilog are most basic and common languages. All softwares are supporting these two languages.

Xilinx ISE8.0 must support Verilog. You try again or check it up with user manual.

In XILINX it doesn't matter which language you use. I think there is even option to mix the HDLs, like writing different code files in Verilog or VHDL.

I've done that louisnells. having the top module written in verilog and sub-blocks in vhdl. synthesized without a problem.
