Xilinx FPGA, need to extract and decode the .bin file

I am working with a Xilinx FPGA and i need to extract and decode the .bin file from the FROM. Is it possible to decode the .bin file so that i may be able to incorporate changes in the already written program instead of having to write from scratch?

Any guidance regarding alternative approach or a simple deduction as to the possibility or impossibility of the task is more than welcome.

No. As far as i know its not possible to deduct and change the code based own what you have.

You need to write code from the scratch. :(
