xilinx cable connection failed - impact

Hi,

I recently bought a new computer - and in the rush of it all, forgot that i needed a parallel port. So i bought a skymaster PCI parallel 2 port and installed it. On LPT3, ive installed my old bj printer. LPT2 is connected to a board with a xilinx XC9572XL CPLD. Im having trouble with my computer when running xilinx impact. Ive changed the settings (output ->cable setup-> parallel III, port LPT2). yet it still doesnt communicate with my cpld. Below is a copy/paste of the log:

I have installed xilinx 8.2i sp2. Ive got an incling that it may have to do with the drivers of my pci parallel port, but i would have assumed that both work normally because the printer works fine.

The base address looks wrong. Typically 378, 278, 3BC are used for parallel ports.

The xilinx software mentioning the base address suggests that it trys to operate the hardware directly, not via a seperate driver.

Is there a setting for base address in the xilinx software?

Thank you for your response. I checked the software and there isnt any option to change the base address.

check the VCC pins on the board, scope the JTAG pins. Try to use older impact software what is allowed to chnge the lpt port
