Hi,

how can I write out a layer map file from encounter along with gds from ? Is it with the switch -layermap with streamOut, Or is it taking layerMap as input ?

Thanks
Shameel

it is something like this:
Code:
METAL1 NET 16	0
METAL1 SPNET 16	0
METAL1 PIN 16	0
METAL1 LEFPIN 16	0
METAL1 FILL 16	1
METAL1 VIA 16	0
METAL1 VIAFILL 16	1
METAL1 LEFOBS 16	0
METAL1 CUSTOM 40	0
NAME METAL1/NET	16	0
NAME METAL1/SPNET	16	0
NAME METAL1/PIN	40	0
NAME METAL1/LEFPIN	40	0

LEF name, data type, gds layer, gds second level data-layer

ok..but can I write out this from PnR tool along with gds or do I need to create this manually ?

you write it manually, as for encounter the number of layers is limited (metals and vias)
