Wireless communication

How many transmitters and receivers are put on one base station?

Re: Wireless communication

There is one transceiver (one receiver and one transmitter).

Re: Wireless communication

each BTS site will have a number of transceiver.

if the site devided to more than one sector (this is dependent on the planner and subscribers density) then each sector will have number of transceiver also dependent on the subscriberes density; where each transceiver capable of handel an RF carrier and the capacity of this RF carrier (for example in GSM 900) will be for 8 subscribers (8 timeslots) so that u need more than one RF carrier i.e. more than one transceiver and remember this is depends on the subscribers density.

by the way i am a GSM BSS engineer.

Hi moto,
I have one question.
In GSM 900 there are multiple carrier frequencies per sector to handle subscriber density.
is my statement is correct?
If present then please specify the rejection requirements if any.

Wireless communication

Now in GSM 900 each sector is of 2 carriers and can be 3, 4, 5 , 6 or in some countries 12

May I know the service provider in which country having 2 or more carriers in a sector from the same base station.
