wireless communication between android device and a wifi module rn131C

Hello friends,
I am working in a home thermostat project,where i need to send the ssid and phrase key of my home router to the thermostat device from an android device at fresh installation. Initially, we decided to use adhoc mode in the android device but later found that it is very inconvenient. So,I just want to know is there any other method for the wireless device(wifi module and the android device) to communicate.
