Its been some time when i came across a web page where making of ferrite core transformers and inductors was discussed. It was shown in details with diagrams the way to count the turns. It was different from iron core transformer turn counting, and the way to make half and 1/4 turns, also there was discussion about how to maintain phase in these transformers.
But unfortunately i forgot to save the page, and now i am unable to find it even with google.
Please any one can help me and tell me about the webpage or other such websites.
mark the start and end of each winding.
Keep the direction of turns same
All windings would have same phase w.r.t START and END of each winding. In other words if it is a two winding transformer, and I mark the start point on one winding by "DOT" (as in dot convention for transformer); DOT would be placed on start side of second winding.
Hope this help.
IMHO definition of "turns" remain same irrespective of type of core. One round trip in circular manner would qualify as one turn. I am not too confident about fractional turns, not sure why and how that would help or used, as there would always be some difference between calculated values and actually realized values.
Today i found the web page i was looking for.So i found that the difference in winding turns counting is for toroids and chokes. The ferrite core transformer winding turns are counted same way as in iron core transformers.I am much thankful for you help.

Fractional turns are an odd thing... first of all, for simple cores with just one window, like toroids, there are no fractional turns. Fractional turns are only possible for cores with multiple windows and more than two legs (mainly E cores). Doing fractional turns correctly can be tricky, since it's easy to end up with flux imbalances in the core when done improperly.
