Hi,

My university currently uses gpdk 180nm for all our designs.I tried using the models using ngspice. but, it throws warning saying that none of the model parameters are recognized.

I wanted to know if there is a way for me to make gpdk 180nm models work with the free spice simulator (like ngspice for linux, or wtspice for windows).

This would help me a lot in my Pipelined ADC design as this would mean that I need not have to sit in the lab for most of the time except for final step when i can freeze the design.

Thanks in advance,
Satish

I don't know ngspice but a common difference between some Spice variants is the 'level'. So a level 49 model in Hspice might be called level 51 in another. You would need to check your model files and the ngspice documentation. If it is the problem then the solution is simply to change the level in the model file with a text editor.

Thanks buddy,

Actually that was the issue.
Now, I see that all the gpdk180 model parameters are being recognised by spice also.

Again, thanks a ton as this will help me hell a lot...

Regards,
Satish
