Dears,

I wanted to create a WiFi Access Point that supports air monitor mode. After Googling for 3 days now, I've found microchip RN 171 WiFi module. It looked promising at the beginning especially with the WebScan Firmware that is used to scan surrounding APs. But unfortunately it does not fulfill my needs.

What I wanted is to create a WiFi AP that can also sniff air packets (as a wireless card in the monitor mode). I wanted something like Aruba 105 AP.

Questions:
1- Is RN 171 is the module that can be used in that task?
2- If yes, what are the clues to guide me through the implementation process?
3- if no, What are the suggested ideas to implement such solution?

Thanks in advance.
