Why we use CMOS even when there is BJT?

y use CMOS ??

due to sizing CMOS have achieved almost equal speed of BJT plus power consumption is very low in the case of CMOS which the main reason...

More cmos transistors can be manufactured compare than BJT & as well as Low power consumption..

cmos has
*** less loading effect
*** less cost
*** less power consumption
*** faster speed
*** higher density also

BJTs have almost ruled the industry for quite sometime but Going into further technologies, power is the governing factor in almost every design. Less Power consumption is the main reason. hence cmos integration is higher compared to BJTs. Other reasons have been cited above.

One more reason is

BJT current is controlled by holes and electrons where as
MOSFET current is controlled by only electrons, so MOSFET's are faster that the BJT's

CMOS faster than BJT - it's not true.

cost/power/load immunity are key benifits.

hi xhl, how can u say that cmos is not faster than bjt...
in bjts we have two carriers while in case of cmos we have only electrons and the mobility of electrons is much higher than ur holes.....thts y the cmos is faster than bjt.....

how will you explain this when PMOS is the case we are talkin off.... huh??

BJT is faster than CMOS... CMOS has achieve comparable speed only due to sizing....
i mean COMPARABLE not faster....

less power consumption, full swing complemetary signals, more bulky but reliable
