Hi, everyone. I have a question about the meander line antenna.

Is the radiation pattern of the meander line antenna the same as that of the dipole or monopole antenna? Why the parallel trace of the meanderline antenna currents do not cancel with each other?

Any reference or information will be appreicated,

Thanks.

It depends on the resonance mode and the length of parallel line of the antenna. When the length is smaller than \lambda/2 the pattern will be like figure of eight. But for heigher modes. pattern of the meander line may differ from that of straight one.

This is true for certain conditions. Say for \lambda/2 when the phase and amplitude at the two close parallel line of the structure are not equal and opposite.
