Why the High freq.,trace Routing @ 50 ohms

Why the high frequency signals are routed at 50 Ohms ...is there any standards...why not 60ohms,or 75ohms..

For high speed signals the trace impedance is matched with the impedance of the Source and the Load. This will minimize signal integrity issues on the line.

So the impedance is determined by the components you use.

Few reasons:
1- Most of the chip supports 50ohm,and we need to match the impedance..that is why we go for 50 ohm

2- its difficult to fabricate the PCB of higher impedances.

Also its not like what u see in tool is correct..always tolerances are associated at each step in PCB design.so it varies between 50-70 ohms
