why resistance is in watts ??

as far as i know about the basic electronics ,
The Unit of Resistance is ohms ok not watts
then y people used to say i want a resistance of 2 watts etc ???
then don't they say i need a resistance of _______ ohms ???
 

You probably didn't hear exactly. resistance is not in watts.
But resistors have (and need to have for obvious reasons) a power rating as additional parameter.
 

the unit of Resistence is Ω, & the unit of power is watt,
power of the resistor shows the maximum limit that it can Knob without burning.
p = v²/R

You may ask OK why we don't use a high power resistance if its power shows the maximum tolerable power of it.

the answer is that price and vlume is higher for higher power resistances.

If a big resistor is too expensive and is too big then re-design your circuit to use less power in the resistors.

Or use an IC without any resistors.
