What is Difference between GSM receiver and CDMA-RAKE receiver?

As per RAKE receiver theory: it's designed to handle many multipath faded signals and select strong/correct signal.
In GSM receiver also it has to detect the original signal from many multipath faded signals (considering Co-channel and adjacent interferences) , then in that case why such Rake receiver term is not used in GSM?
