Why most of the TFT source driver use 2.5~3.6v device for its digital part?

Why most of the TFT source driver use 2.5~3.6v device for its digital part? Can 1.8v device be used ?

The main power supply is 2.5~3.6V. But there is LDO regulator (1.8V) inside the chip. It will provide 1.8V power for internal logic/memory, etc.

Why the power supply should be 2.5v~3.6v? 0.35um process? If I use 0.18um process, can it be 1.8v for low voltage part?
