why battery cars are not popular ? :?:

1. The cost of the battery.

2. As you increase the battery size you add weight so you do not get an increase in driving range proportional to the battery improvement.

The only successful battery powered vehicles are for driving around golf courses. In these cases the weight of the vehicle is low and the speed is low. They would not be legally allowed on public roads.

In addition:
- The battery wears rapidly because of the repeated charge/discharge cycle, and it needs to be replaced quite often. This is bad because the battery is expensive (is a high capacity low volume type) and also contains a lot of toxic materials and substances that need to be recycled.
- There is no "free energy", so after using the car for a day, you need to recharge the battery and this takes time (about 10-12 hours) and consumes lots of energy (tens - hundreds of kW - expensive). Personally i don't think the national power system could support charging car batteries over night if all the cars were electric.

Nowadays the ecologic ideas about reducing energy consumption and pollution are widespread.
The battery cars would be beneficial if:
- small size, high capacity, long life, non hazardous batteries would be available;
- power could be generated at low price and without pollution.

The battery cars give the impression of a green car, because they don't produce gases and don't use oil; but on the long term, because of the problems mentioned, they could be more dangerous than classic cars, if used in high numbers. A problem is also with hydrogen cars, because producing hydrogen also needs lots of energy and toxic chemicals.

Because battery energy is consumed rapidly.

There is something you should no.

If u got simple inductor and a simple passive magnet, so if u will move magnet over the inductor you will get a small amount of energy. From where ? But its the way simple generator motor works, so kick it start and whola, u will get a electrical energy.

And is u search around: overunity u fill find more.

So where this energy is coming, mehanical movement, hmm i dont think so.

Because if its popular, the demand for oil will drop and nations will collapse! That is why they made the technology to be not popular.

This is the main reason behind this, apart from oil, car manufacturers have invested so much money in oil based cars so even they don't like this idea. Otherwise all technical problems associated with battery powered cars can be solved with proper research may be most of them have been already solved but not visible to us.

Hey, you guys are forgetting something. These cars can not gain speed as every1 wants from a car. The fuel engine is much more efficient in gaining sudden acceleration. I think this is one of the main reasons........

Yamazaki, it is actually oposite. Electric cars have excellent acceleration. It is iniital cost that keeps buyers away and after cost of replacing bateries. As with any new technology it needs to get mass-produced to lower cost. Also there are no bateries developed yet specifically for this purpose, so in future you will see slow shift towards this.
For now, if you have deep pockets : https://www.teslamotors.com/

Where on earth did this come from?

It could work if you drove your car in circles under a waterfall with the water powering the generator. Or in strong wind with the wind powering the generator. Or are you going to power the generator with your feet?

I would recommend a crash course in basic physics.

efficieny is a key issue. also high weight, lack of power...

it will take one minute to refill your fuel car with gas, but it will take hours to recharge your car batteries.

a newer technology is to use compressed air in tanks and only takes a few minutes to refill
its still in experimental stages

they dont generate enough power, top speed is less and u have to replace batteries after a few years.

may be the the goverment shall prove the car industry, because the battery car is expensive

i agree , motors that runs on 12v car battery alone are still limited and usually does not have enough power. We tried to use this on an old project... it didn't go that fast :)

You're talking about one specific case only and cannot generalize from that.
Electric motors can be designed for almost any power and speed, and can easily exceed IC engines performance. Existing electric motors can go in the 100000+ RPM range easily. Motor speed isn't an issue here.
Motors currently used for vehicle propulsion usually run off of a higher voltage, like 330V, not necessarily because of speed reasons.

There is an electric car made in Quebec (French) Canada.
It is a little toy.
Its top speed is so slow that it is banned from Canada. I think it is sold in South America.
It is really an expensive converted little Golf Cart.

solar may be the life for both , car and us , or car with us or us with car , similar we have to adjust too
