please can someone tell me the reason why a bridge rectifier cannot be used with a Centre Tap Transformer ???
I think it has something to do with Ripple Factor .
But what exactly is it ?

The bridge recitifier provides full wave rectification from a two wire AC input (saving the cost of a center tapped transformer) but has two diode drops rather than one reducing efficiancy over a center tap based design for the same output voltage.

You can use, there is not reason to don't use it.
If you need for example a dual power supply, you use a center tap transformer and bridge rectifier, where the center tap is the reference for the positive and negative supply.
If you don't use the center tap, and you connect the two windings in series ,you have an equivalent winding that has twice the output voltage.

The fact that we connect it for the dual ps and all is just fine .
I read that it has an effect on the Ripple factor at the output . i.e. output ripple has a greater value than that found by using a normal transformer.
