founder of antenna?

strange question.....may be..

i think we may not be end up with real founder.........may not be invented..it will be discovered....any metallic element have length equal to wavelength/10...will definitely can act as antenna ie radiating element

may answer may not hit the bill...topic neede to be explored....

Almost two

Hertz and Guglielmo Marconi

there is no such founder of the antenna.
the simplest antenna is the hertzian dipole

This goes back to 1850-1900 when several British scientists did the basic scientific-mathematical work including waveguides.

Since it was bad form for upper class British people to do manual labor they left it at the mathenatical level which was carried forward to real hardware by people from other countires.

The Victorian era was the worst case of this. They thought that position had priority to talent. The math professors at Cambridge were always deriding Heaviside because he did not have a degree even though they contributed nothing to electrical engineering and he was the one who edited Maxwell's 25 equations down to six by removing the ones with errors and duplications.

Something similar is happening today. I am reading an antenna book by a famous US professor who has published hundreds of papers in IEEE journals. This professor does not know the difference between lumped and distributed networks and applies lumped circuit theory to distributed circuits with erroneous results.
