Hi,

I want to use MSP430 series of microcontroller. For that I am looking for the development tools. I would like to know out of IAR,MSP GCC, and Code Composer which is the best. Please suggest, if any other development tools are available.

Hi

An answer to your question dependent on your project type:

If you are a PRO doing a project who will go into a mass production I can advice you to use IAR tools (cost around $3000) and TI USB JTAG debugger
You can also use Image-Carft Or Crossworks as a C compilers who cost less($700)

If you are only a newbe who wish to play and learn the 430 you can use OLIMEX $10 debug adaptor and GCC for MSP430

if your project code size is limited to less the 4K you can also use the IAR tools

All the best

Bobi

hello,

if you go on the ti website it shows all the tools available from third party distributers (software and hardware). u should be able to find what you need there.

good luck

I use IAR is a good compiler and hasn't bugs, but is more expensive. The IAR has a trial full version of your last version, for evaluation ....

The ImageCraft C compiler ICC430 V6 Standard Version cost $199.00.
