I come from an OrCAD and SPECCTRA background and am at the moment seriously considering other SW options for our complex designs. Can users please help me with their valuable input on which tools will suite my needs best. Any comments will be welcome and I don’t expect all users to know the best answers to all my questions. I’m sure some of these questions have been asked in the past, but the performance and prices of SW tools do change on a yearly basis.

Our typical designs these days have:
blind microvias,
buried vias,
layer count = 16 layers,
pin count = +14000,
via count = +6000,
connections count = +9000,
nets count = +1700,
component count = +3000,
some routing rules = differential pairs, min/max length, impedance control, matched length, route by layer, rule by area (by region and/or component)

Which schematic capture tools with component database interfacing on the market will be best for this complexity of design?
Please rate SW packages 1 to 3 and your reasons.

Which pre-layout SI simulation tools will be best for this complexity of design?
Please rate SW packages 1 to 3 and your reasons.

Which board layout and placement tools on the market will be best for this complexity of design?
Please rate SW packages 1 to 3 and your reasons.

Which grid less, shape-based autorouter tools on the market will give you the best result with the least amount of interaction for this complexity of design?
Please rate SW packages 1 to 3 and your reasons.

Which post-layout SI simulation tools will be best for this complexity of design?
Please rate SW packages 1 to 3 and your reasons.

Which CAM tools will be best for this complexity of design?

Many thanks for any comments that you may post.
